Arabs Go Wild on Broadway //

10.06.10
bySeif Al-Din

When we listed Arab-American Comedy as one of the things we were most excited about in 2010 back in January, we had no idea we’d be seeing some of our finest comedians on Broadway nine months later. For the first time ever, New York City’s Broadway was home to a purely Arab-American event — Arabs Gone Wild (AGW), at The Town Hall. The house was full of energy and laughter right up to the last minute.

The show was hilarious and one of the most diverse we’ve seen. Dean Obeidallah, Aron Kader, Joe DeRosa, Baha Khalil and Said Durrah gave the crowd solid stand-up, Maysoon Zayid put her stamp on Broadway with a brilliant tap dance number, and Go Remy and Mohamed Mohamed blessed the stage with some catchy guitar-laced humor (audio coming soon). And to top it all off, the crowd got to see a very special guest performance by The Daily Show‘s Aasif Mandvi.

The AGW crew has four stops left on their fall tour — Boston (October 9th), Toronto (October 16th), Dallas (November 5th) and Houston (November 6th). Stay tuned on our Facebook page for your chance to win tickets to an upcoming show in your city, and check out the shots below…
