With Outlandish premiering the video for their latest single “Keep The Record On Play” online today, we hit up NYC-based director Ridwan Adhami to get the behind-the-scenes story and his thoughts on working with the internationally-renowned Arab/Desi/Latin hip-hop group:
They are a great group of guys, amazingly talented and really down to earth. This video was different in that it wasn’t really planned or scripted.
“Isam B and I have spoken quite a bit over the last year or two and have talked about working together on something we just never had the chance. The group came out to NYC for a benefit concert at the United Nations and we hooked up the next day with nothing really in mind — just to shoot some still photos. They wanted to do a video in NYC since they were there…
but the label didn’t have this song or video in the budget so they were just going to shoot something with a hand camera. When I heard this I told them we should just do it right and make a street video with them preforming all over NYC. So this video is a result of that, us driving around and hopping out when we liked the location and shooting a performance.”
Ridwan tells us there’s more to come from this collaboration, but more on that later. Let us know what you think of the song and video – keep your comments on play below.

we already loved this song, and we’re lovin’ the video – fun and nicely shot! can’t wait to see Ridwan’s next directorial piece…
